I transferred money to my friend's account at a different bank. My bank took the money back out of my friend's account and said it was their money. What can I do? Is this legal? Why did they do it?
Start by contacting your bank to find out why they apparently reversed the transfer from your account. When a bank pulls back a funds transfer like this, it's usually because there was a problem with the transfer, either it was a duplicate, the sending account had insufficient funds, there was an error in the bank routing information, etc. However, we can't speculate why your bank reversed that particular transaction.
