Who can legally access my banking account information other than me?
It depends on what information in particular you mean. If you write someone a check, they can call your bank to verify if it will pay. The bank itself has access and employees have access. They should look at your information only as needed. A court could require that information on your account be provided. Those are the only major ways to do this. Because of privacy laws, your bank keeps this very restricted. They should have provided you with a privacy statement. If they share any of your information for marketing purposes, they will advise you of this and you can "opt-out" of that sharing. Your bank may also share with vendors they work with to process your transactions and maintain your accounts. These vendors are then held to the same strict standards as your bank. If you don't recall what the banks privacy notice said, look on their web site or call and ask for another disclosure.
