Foreign Company Opening Account at US Bank

I am a non US resident and do not have a SSN. My partners and I opened an LLC through one of the online portals about four months back, and we also got a bank account. Our business has been very successful and this success has translated into a large number of transactions occurring on the account.

Due to the high volume of transactions and our lack of a direct connection to the bank, we have been informed that the account will be closed. Is it possible for my company to open an account at another bank? How should we go about doing so?

Bankers hate surprises. Any bank that you approach with a hope of establishing a new deposit relationship for your business will want to get as much information about your business as possible. You will need to be candid with the new bank concerning the type of business, need for bank services, and anticipated transaction types and volumes. The bank will want all that information to be able to understand what to expect.

You can also expect that a bank will ask for full identification of the principals of your business. If you are prepared to provide full background information on the business and its principals, you should be able to establish accounts with another institution.
