I made an electronic payment for my house payment, but it has never been removed from my account. It has been posted by my mortgage company and payments since then have come out. How long do I have to wait before they can't remove the amount from me?
Don't get comfortable with the idea that the bank won't find the error and fix it. There's no legal deadline for the bank to make the correction, unless there's one in your state's laws.
Contact your mortgage servicer to be very certain that it's not constantly accepting payments that are one month in arrears. That would mean that late fees could be piling up.
