Difference Between 'Balance' and 'Available'

When I go online into my account, there are two different amounts: one is "balance", the other is "available". What is the difference?

The "balance" is what would show on your bank statement if it were printed. The "available" balance adds to the balance electronic and some other credits in the process of being added to your account, and subtracts withdrawals, debit card transactions and other pending debits to the account. Any checks that you have deposited to your account that have not yet been made available for withdrawal will show in the "balance" but not in the "available balance."
