Confusion with Just Starting eBanking

We just started using bill pay from our bank. Since it was at the end of the month, my wife made a regular payment and an e-payment by error. She's been trying to have the overpayment returned, and has done everything they ask, but always gets told different requirements by different phone center people. She went to a branch for help, and still no results. Its been almost a month now, and she has documented the efforts. Is there any other thing that we can do to get our money back? Is there an agency to which we can complain?

If the bank executed your payments as instructed, to get the second (over) payment back you really need to go to whom it was paid. To have the bank attempt to retract the payment may not only be slow, but ineffective as they don't have the money.

If it has been a month and you were paid ahead, you will now be even if another payment was just coming due. If you still want the over-payments refunded, go to the payee and having him send you a check.

If you want to complain about the bank to their regulator, you need to first determine who that is, and then contact them directly. This site will help.
