My husband has a loan from a credit union. I do all the bills. There was a letter about a late payment and I called, but even though I am his wife, and know all the account information and his information, because I am not my husband they wouldn't tell me anything. As a spouse how much access do I have?
Financial institutions are expected to maintain their customers or members' privacy, and have been sued for divulging confidential information to customers' spouses. You have only as much access as your husband tells the credit union you can have, and the reverse would be true if the roles were reversed.
