I have a savings account, and my ex-husband wants to transfer some money into it. My account is empty, but I was just curious about that; is it safe? What harm could he do?

There could be problems if you didn't want your ex to know your account number. Either you'll have to give it to him or he'll have to go into the bank, provide them with enough information so they can identify your account, and you'll have to ensure the bank gives him a receipt that excludes your account number.
If he makes the deposit with a check and that check bounces, you could be charged a fee for the deposit reversal. If any of the money from that deposit was withdrawn, the bank will want that back immediately. If a large sum was deposited, you may be asked about the source of the funds.
