I purchased a Cashier's Check in November 2004 and now some family wants to know if it was cashed. How far back can a bank go to see if a Cashier's Check was cashed?
Bank record retention will vary, but every bank should be able to go back three years. You may be able to call or email your bank to find out. Depending on the bank's systems, they may be able to quickly email or fax you a copy of the check if it has cleared. If it hasn't, they can help you get a replacement issued.
