I'm buying a vehicle from an individual that is out of town. I have the option not to purchase based on my inspection. I will pay via a bank check, but if the inspection does not work out, I don't want to have a problem getting the funds re-deposited. Can I have the bank check payee be: "[Seller's Name] or [My Name]"?

Every bank has a procedure for handling bank checks that aren't used by the purchaser. Just ask yours how it wants you to handle it.
