POA Ends at Death of Subject

My father recently passed away and I found a check he had not cashed or deposited before his death. I am his Power of Attorney. Could I endorse it for him and deposit it into his and my mom's checking account?

Your power of attorney ended on his death. Now the check can only be negotiated by the legal representative of his estate. If an estate won't be opened, your mother could ask the issuer of the check whether it can be reissued to her.
