I have the power of attorney for person A. Can I remove person B from a CD that reads A "or" B? What if the CD says A "as trustee for" B? Or if it says A "in trust for" B?
Under the laws of most states, a power of attorney does not include the authorization to make changes in account ownership. Unless the power of attorney specifically states that you are authorized to make such changes, you should not be permitted to do so.
