Can a POA Sign Bonds?

Can an attorney in fact sign bonds for the person whose power of attorney he/she holds?

An attorney in fact cannot cash savings bonds payable to the grantor of his power of attorney at a financial institution. The attorney in fact is required to contact the Savings Bond Servicing section at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis or the Pittsburg branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland to arrange for bond redemption. You can determine which Federal Reserve office to contact and its contact number, here. Published on BankingQuestions.com 6/05/08
