Farmers Insurance Group is offering an insurance policy of up to $15,000 to cover losses incurred as a result of identity theft. The policy covers expenses such as notarizations, certified mail, lost wages, long distance telephone calls, loan application, and attorney fees.
The insurance company recently conducted a survey that reveals that most consumers say they check their credit card and bank statements, tear up receipts that contain account numbers and check credit reports on a regular basis. Yet, seven in ten people surveyed say they do nothing to actually protect their accounts.
