I have a tax-defered IRA invested in the stock market. Is there a way to roll it into CD's or money markets and still be tax deferred?
An IRA arrangement is a shell of sorts, in which any number of different investments can be managed under the favorable tax treatment afforded IRA arrangements. Stock investments held in the IRA account can be sold and the proceeds invested in bank deposits or vice versa without a tax effect, as long as the funds are not withdrawn from the IRA arrangement.
