What are the FDIC regulations for number of bank employees being present with a customer inside of the vault with safe deposit boxes? How many bankers are supposed to be present inside vault with the customer?
There are no regulations on this. If you are not comfortable with the number of staff there, ask them to leave. There may well be several employees in the vault area, but you should be provided with a room where you can be alone with your box, or they should offer to leave you in complete privacy, if there are no rooms and you must examine the contents of your box in the vault area. That is standard in the industry because of the nature of the safe deposit box.
