Do I have to pay fees to my bank for so many withdrawals or transfers out of my savings account? It's my money; can't I do whatever I want with it?
Many banks charge fees when customers exceed some minimal number of withdrawals or transfers from their savings accounts. Customers agree to pay those fees when they open their accounts, or by continuing to keep accounts in a bank that announces new fees.
Yes, it's your money, and you can do whatever you want with it, but sometimes it costs money to do what you want. If you're not satisfied that your bank's fees are fair, shop around to see if you can find a bank account that won't involve transaction fees. Then you can express your dissatisfaction with your current bank by voting with your feet, walking your money out the door one last time.
