What is the best way to close my savings account? Do I need to inform the bank, or do I just withdraw all my money and wait for a letter coming from the bank informing me that my account is already closed?

It may be a good idea to tell the bank that you want to close the account, in order to obtain any accrued interest that has not yet been posted to the balance. Also, make sure you turn in any ATM card you have for the account when you go to the bank to close it.
