Is Bank Liable to Return Stolen Funds?

I had a large amount of money stolen from my savings account, and don't have a debit card or checks for that account. Is the bank liable to return the money that was stolen?

Without more information, it cannot be said definitively, but commonly yes. If you didn't make the withdrawal or authorize it, your bank will investigate it and determine how and why the funds were removed. Assuming they were not removed through some other legal process your bank, the safe-keeper of your funds, will ensure your financial safety.
