Husband Forged Checks; How to Pursue

My husband (soon to be Ex) stole several checks from my wallet, forged my name, made them payable to himself and cashed them at my Texas bank. He is not an authorized signer on my account. Can I pursue the bank for repayment?

Yes, but do so promptly. The bank may resist, and suggest that you settle the problem with your husband. It may even suggest that the bank will pursue legal action against your husband to recover the stolen funds, as is its right. Decide whether you want the bank to go after your husband for restitution or not, but do not delay.
