On two separate occasions I deposited cash into my bank account at my local bank and the transactions were not immediately reflected as being deposited into my account when I went online hours later. On both occasions I went to the bank the next day and discovered that there was no record in their teller system that the transactions had occurred.
I provided my deposit slips in both cases and they entered the transaction in their teller system and they were reflected in my account. The bank is in South Carolina. I am sure I can duplicate this occurrence at any time. Being an experienced computer person, I believe I know what is happening and have expressed my concerns to the local bank manager.
How and to whom can I report this problem? I know I am not the only depositor who is affected by this irregularity.
Speak with an officer of the bank, perhaps the Security Officer would be appropriate. You should be able to ask for that person by position. This is not the guard at the bank, but the internal officer who investigates potentially illegal activities at the bank which can happen on both sides of the teller counter.
