I was approved for a loan of $5000, but must make a cash deposit of $768. Is this legit? They say that a check or money order has a wait of fifteen days, but a wire transfer will be twenty-four hours. I don't see any protection other than the agents word. Please help.
Be afraid. Be very afraid!
In the U.S., a licensed lender will never ask you to send loan fees to them in advance. Instead, they will deduct them from loan proceeds. The website for the company you mentioned provides no information about the company's location or where or whether it is a licensed lender. The payment of up-front fees in advance has all the earmarks of what is commonly called an "advance fee" scam, and you'd be kissing your $768 good-bye and getting nothing in return.
