A friend of mine was charged with fraud because he cashed a check worth $700+ that was stolen. Now he's willing to pay the restitution, plus all other interest to the bank, hoping to dismiss the case against him. Is there any way that a bank like Wells Fargo would consider dropping the case?
If we were running the bank, we would be happy to receive restitution, including reasonable attorneys' fees, and would drop the matter, but we can't speak for the bank in question, so your friend will have to make his offer and wait for a response.
