How can we find out if some one has opened another account in our name without us knowing?
Essentially you can't, as a bank will respect the privacy of their customers and won't reveal very much information to you. If you believe there is fraud and someone is using your name, contact law enforcement. Similarly named commercial accounts are not unusual and unless they are using your tax ID, there may be little you can do. County and state records may assist you in researching the assumed name certificates so you can detect if your name, or one like it, is being used and by whom. Searching the web may also be of assistance, but don't expect a bank to be forthcoming because their customers will get the same privacy as you do.
