The SCRA and Protection from Lawsuits

I have heard that the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act helps servicemembers who are involved in legal actions like lawsuits. In what way?

The SCRA provides many different protections for servicemembers involved in litigation before and during their period of service. For instance, Section 521 provides protection against default judgments (failure to appear for the suit and the court enters judgment for the other party). Section 523 allows a stay of proceedings (the civil lawsuit or administrative agency proceeding won't continue) while during the period of the stay while you are on military service.
