What is Pre-Service Debt

I just received my military orders on January 1st. I was in the process of getting a loan, which closed on January 2. I am scheduled to report on January 4, my "report date." What date will be used to decide if my loan is "pre-service"?

The date of your orders, in this case, January 1st, is the one that will be used to determine if the loan is "pre-service" for purposes of the SCRA benefits.

Post-service debt would be debt incurred after you were serving on active duty. That includes credit card charges made after that date. So you can have one credit card account with both pre- and post-service debt and interest rates.
