I am a Reservist servicemember for the military. Does the SCRA apply to me too?
Untitled
Yes it does. Title I, Section 516 (a) of the Act gives all the rights of other servicemembers to reservists called to report for military service or, under 516(b) ordered to report for induction. A member of a reserve component has rights and privileges granted by the Act beginning the day they receive their orders. If the order is revoked before they report, then coverage continues until the date the order is revoked. The SCRA likewise applies for induction under the Military Selective Service Act (50 U.S.C. U.S.C. App. 451 et seq) and continues from when the person receives the order for induction and ends when the person reports or when the order is revoked, if that happens.
