My husband served in VietNam and was retired because he was wounded. He is now rated as 90% disabled and 100% unemployable through VA due to the worsening of his condition. Is he covered under SSRC? If not, do you know of any other act that we could use relative to our credit card. We are not trying to get out of paying the principle balance, but the interest is killing us. We are having difficulty since his diablity has changed and he can no longer work.

We assume you are asking if there are protections under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) which is a descendant of a law that also protected those serving our country, the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act. As to protections, we don't think so. The interest rate protections under each of these protects the servicemember against debt prior to military service.
We recommend calling your credit card company or a nonprofit credit counseling service to seek assistance on interest rate reductions. Be aware that this action may adversely effect your credit rating. Ask about that if it is a concern.
