Student Loan Question

I am returning to school to obtain my family nurse practioner degree and will be putting my $70,000 student loan debt into deferrment. How will this affect my credit rating and will it affect my ability to obtain a new construction loan for our home we are planning to build? Will the student loans count, since they will be in deferrment, as bills paid monthly?

Your credit rating should not be affected greatly, although the fact that you will still have $70K in loans looming on the horizon will already have had some effect. As for your loan request, the lender may not count monthly payments on your student debt as part of your monthly obligations, but will consider them in your overall debt.
