Consolidating Student Loans with Mortgage

I would like to refinance my home and add my student loans to the loan so that I only have to make one payment. Is there a way to consolidate student loans with a mortgage?

Rolling student loans into a mortgage doesn't sound like a good idea. Spreading the student loans out for so long will mean you end up paying a lot more for your education, and possibly at a higher interest rate than you're currently paying on that debt.

However, it's possible to add student loans to a mortgage if there is sufficient equity in the real estate securing the mortgage loan to pay off the student debt and still leave acceptable equity. Contact your mortgage lender for further information.
