Buying a House Held in a Trust

I am trying to buy a home where a man died. He had no wife or kids, and now it is being held in a trust. We put in a bid on the house to the trust, who said they would send it to the bank, but we haven't heard anything from anyone and it has been three weeks. What should we do, just keep waiting?

Apparently, the bank is the trustee of the trust. In that role, the bank has to manage the assets of the trust, including the sale of the house, with the purpose of the trust and the interest of the trust's beneficiaries in mind. It's possible that the bank will need to hold a meeting to review your bid. It simply cannot make rapid decisions like an individual homeowner might.

Check with the real estate agent through whom you made the offer to ask for a status report. Other than that, you may have to just wait a bit longer.
