My mother set up a trust when she was well and designated me as the trustee. I just set up a checking account for her trust. The checks for that account came yesterday, and although I am listed as the trustee, the name of the trust is not listed on the check.
Is the name of the trust supposed to be on the checks as well as my name as trustee? Will the fact that it isn't be a source of problems later on?
What's important is the way in which the account is carried on the bank's books. It's not at all uncommon to omit the full name of a trust from printed checks. Contact the bank and check on how the account is entered in the bank's records.
