I have an account as follows: Robert Jones ITF Michael Jones. Can I deposit a check into this account that is signed by Michael and is made out to his name?
If Michael endorsed the check either with his signature alone (blank endorsement) or his signature preceded by "Pay to Robert Jones" (a special endorsement), the check can again be endorsed by you for deposit to the account, if the bank agrees. If Michael has not endorsed the check, the bank should not accept it for deposit, because the account is legally yours, not Michael's.
