Removing Name from Car Loan and Lien

My mom is the main buyer on my car. What can I do to get her name taken off the loan and my car?

Ask yourself why the lender has her on the loan in the first place, and what incentive they have to release her? She is a potential source of repayment. They have no incentive to take her off the contract, and she has no incentive to be on the loan, without ownership rights in the auto. If she ends up paying off the loan, she'll want the car title and the ability to do something with it.

Refinance the loan in your name alone or with some other qualified borrower. Refinancing removes her from the debt, and you'll need to process whatever title documents are necessary to have her agree to remove herself from the title.
